a) The President

The President is the head of the Democratic Republic of Somalia, and he/she can hold office for 5 years if elected democratically. He/She can not run for Somali Presidency more than two terms. The President has the right to choose and appoint these following key governmental posts in conjunction with his/her powers.

b) The Prime Minister

The Prime Minister is the head of the Cabinet, and is chosen by the President  of the Democratic Republic of Somalia. The Prime Minister has the right to appoint the cabinet in absolute consultation with the President of the Democratic Republic of Somalia.

c) The Ambassadorial Posts

All the Somali Ambassadors are appointed by the President of the Democratic Republic of Somalia in these following qualifications and experiences:-

• Ambassador must be medically fit

• Highly educated with master's degree in politics/diplomacy

• Must be 28 years/above

• Must not commit any crimes

• Must have 3 years experience in foreign policy
  

d) The General Rank

The Generals are elevated by the President of the Democratic Republic of Somalia on three ways based on national military rules of promotion as the following:-

1.  Educational Fulfillment for the Rank of Genera Rank
2. Battle Merit for the Rank of General Rank
3. The Career Fulfillment for the Rank of General 

e) The Civil Grades 

The civil grades are based on systematic merits in regard to functional performance of any civil jobs within the government of the Democratic Republic of Somalia.
